Pro snowboarder Russell Winfield has been shredding since the 1980s. His journey has led him to become one of the most legendary athletes of his generation. Russell’s legacy as a freestyle rider has been shaped here at Crystal Mountain. His energy runs deep in this snow and can be felt across the terrain. “Crystal is gnarly… Gnarly Northwest dudes cut their teeth at Crystal Mountain. It’s a Washington mountain. We got big trees, it snows a lot, you can jump some big stuff, or you can go like me and Sophia, my 11-year-old, and go rip around on the groomers. It’s rad!” he says.
