She is passionate about stewardship and community volunteering with nonprofits like NWAC, SheJumps, and EDGE Outdoors, and co-founded the Snowpack Avalanche Scholarship and Ikon Pass Mountain Access Programs, helping women nationwide access avalanche education and snow sports. Blair HabenichtBlair personifies Crystal Mountain. A third-generation Crystal local (with kids proudly carrying on a fourth generation), Blair’s Crystal roots run deep. He helped shape Crystal’s event culture by hosting our very first banked slalom, The Last-Ditch Effort, and continues to be a driving force in the community that makes Crystal special. For the last 17 years, Blair has traveled the world as a professional snowboarder and writer, stacking up numerous video parts, landing cover shots, and standing on podiums along the way. On snow, Blair frequently drops into Niagra’s and Penny Dogs in search of the perfect flow state. Off snow, he carries the same dedication to homesteading, homebuilding, snowmobiling, surfing, foiling, dirt biking, and writing. Backed by Smartwool, Fjell Snowboards, and Strait Excavation, Blair embodies the grit, creativity, and deep-rooted legacy that make Crystal special. |

Max DjenohanMax has called Crystal home for over six years. Growing up north of Seattle meant bouncing between Stevens, Snoqualmie, and Baker, but it was Crystal’s proximity to Tahoma that sealed the deal. “On a bluebird, you can see six volcanoes from the Summit House deck. I don’t know of anywhere else in the Cascades where that’s possible.” Max spends time giving back through The Service Board, and you can find him pushing into Silver Basin and beyond, chasing powder and big mountain terrain. After years of riding hard, Max still finds new zones, lines, and reasons to explore season after season. Sponsored by Outdoor Research, Jones Snowboards, Karakoram Bindings, Hyperlite Mountain Gear, and Crystal Mountain. |

Maya StrongMaya is our newest ambassador. Growing up, she spent nearly every weekend in B-Lot, where her family would camp. From hitting her first jump under Chair 6 on Queen’s Run to sliding her first box in the old Magoo terrain park, Crystal Mountain was a foundational part of her ski journey. The mountain’s tight-knit community and energy are what continue to draw her back season after season. In 2025, Maya switched from ski racing to freeride — a shift that has encouraged her to see Crystal’s terrain through a new lens and find more creativity in her skiing. Surrounded by the outdoor industry from a young age, Maya developed a strong connection to outdoor culture. She currently skis for Black Diamond and Smith Optics at the grassroots level. |

Sawyer MowbraySawyer Mowbray is a young local legend at Crystal Mountain. With a skill set shaped by years of passion, progression, and very deep mountain roots, he’s already throwing down massive tricks at just 15 years old. His parents, Jen and Chet Mowbray, met in 1988 while working as pro patrollers at Crystal. Born and raised in Greenwater, Sawyer knew the mountain before he could walk. “Before I even knew how to talk, my parents would take me ski touring while I sat in the backpack. I either napped or just enjoyed the ride.” Proudly supported by 686 and Cascara Equipment, you’ll catch him either in deep pow or throwing backflips off the cat track to the side of Lucky Shot. Wherever he goes, he’s usually in the air. |

Chelsea StrongAfter moving to Seattle in 2018, Chelsea quickly made Crystal Mountain her home mountain, drawn in by the unmatched in-bounds terrain and the feeling that there’s always more to explore. While becoming a Crystal rider, she noticed a frequent conversation on chairlift rides: women wishing they had more gal-pals to ski and snowboard with. Determined to change that, Chelsea teamed up with the Shred-It Sisters and, with support from SheJumps, began hosting monthly meetups at Crystal. What started as a small group has grown into one of the strongest communities on the mountain, now entering its fifth season and bringing together dozens — sometimes over a hundred — riders. Proudly supported by Crystal Mountain and Pallas Snowboards, Chelsea is co-leader of the Shred-It Sisters, a 3,000+ member group local to Western Washington, and a volunteer event coordinator for the Women’s Outdoor Connection and SheJumps. “Am I the Luckiest Person Alive? I Think So.” |

Alyssa ParsonsHometown: Bozeman, MT (Now Seattle, WA) Alyssa has been skiing at Crystal for about five years. Before making the move from Bozeman to Seattle, she made a trip out to Crystal to see if it could truly replace her old stomping grounds. One visit was all it took. What sold her was the terrain — the mix of wide-open cruisers, rolling intermediate zones, steep technical lines, and massive open bowls that feel borderline backcountry. Backed by Flylow, J Skis, Zipfit, and GoPro, Alyssa loves that Crystal makes big adventures more approachable. You’ll find her roaming Powder Bowl, Southeast Trees, Snorting Elk Bowl, and plenty of Forest Queen laps. |

The One Behind the Camera: Henri HalleHometown: Colorado (Now Crystal Mountain) If you’ve watched one of our many videos or follow cams, you might wonder who captures it all. Well, that’s Henri. A transplant from Colorado, Henri was only supposed to work at Crystal for one season, but ended up working for Steep Motion Films. Like many who come here, he fell in love with the mountain, the community, and the Cascades. To Henri, skiing is pure magic, bliss, and meditation — and he shares that feeling through his imagery. “I Love Watching My Friends Make Turns and Share in the Absolute Stoke at the Bottom of an Amazing Run.” |
