Scenic Gondola

Summer operations are officially underway, with the Mt. Rainier Scenic Gondola running Friday through Sunday through June 25 before transitioning to daily operations on June 26. In just a 12-minute ride, you’ll leave the plaza behind and find yourself surrounded by views of Mount Rainier, some of our most famous peaks, and even some wildlife from time to time.

Summit House

At the top, make a stop at the Summit House Restaurant. Sitting at 6,872 feet, it’s the highest-elevation dining experience in Washington State and offers unmatched views to pair with your meal and beverage. Take a cocktail hour at Crystal, where the views simmer in the most memorable way. It’s a summer experience that simply never gets old.

Mining Sluice

Families visiting this summer can also check out the Mining Sluice, where young explorers can sift through running water in search of gemstones and hidden treasures.

Hiking

No summer visit to Crystal Mountain is complete without hitting the trails. Miles of hiking routes wind through forests, wildflower meadows, and alpine terrain, offering options for every ability level.

As we move through early summer, trail conditions continue to evolve. Snow may linger in higher elevations, and some routes may feature muddy sections, fallen trees, or other natural obstacles. That’s all part of the mountain experience, and a good reminder to come prepared. Check conditions on the Mountain Report before you go and embrace a little adventure along the way.
