Peak summer season is here, and the mountain fun is ramping up! July is packed with a full lineup of family-friendly events and activities to enjoy the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. From our all-new Flying Raven Adventure Course to Farm to Mountain dinners, there’s something for everyone. Read on to get the full scoop of what’s happening at the mountain this month.
Crystal’s new high-ropes course, the Flying Raven Adventure Course is now open daily! With obstacles and challenges for every level of adventurer, this is the perfect summer activity for the whole family to enjoy. While you’re on the mountain, the scenic gondola is another fun way to explore the summit and enjoy up-close views of Mount Rainier and surrounding volcanoes.
Starting July 1st, Farm to Mountain dinners are back by popular demand! This special dinner series features a gourmet menu with locally sourced, sustainable ingredients to highlight the breathtaking views of Mount Rainier and the flavors of the Pacific Northwest. Hosted at the Summit House Restaurant on Saturdays through September 2nd, Farm to Mountain dinners are a unique way to enjoy Crystal’s beauty and flavor. Plus, new this year, you can arrive early to enjoy live music performances featuring local artists in an intimate, unplugged setting. Reservations can be made up to 48 hours in advance on our website.
This July we are kicking off an outdoor painting experience where you can learn the fundamentals of watercolor. In this three-hour class, you’ll have the opportunity to master the art of capturing the intricate details of a majestic mountain landscape.
Your journey will start with a ride up the scenic gondola to an alpine meadow or high mountain ridgeline where nature will serve as your inspiration. Under the artist’s expert instruction and guidance, you’ll learn step-by-step how to capture the detail of a mountain scene. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or a beginner, all experience levels are welcome. All event dates and information can be found on our website.
July 14th is our annual mountain clean-up! We are stoked to invite you to join us and do your part to preserve the pristine beauty of Crystal Mountain for generations to come. Throughout the day, participants will be assigned designated clean-up zones, where they will discover and collect hidden pieces of trash and recyclables.
Once the clean-up efforts are complete, there will be an afternoon gathering on the patio with delicious food and refreshments. Prizes will be awarded for “most unique find,” “most fabulous find,” “most ridiculous find,” and “most trash collected.” Pre-registration for this event is required and is capped at 100 total participants. This special day of environmental stewardship with our mountain community is a great way to give back to the remarkable land that generously provides for us year after year.
