We love August adventures on the mountain! This month is the perfect time to get out and experience the variety of summer events and activities here, from wildflower viewing to free outdoor concerts. Whether you’re looking for a challenge or a leisurely activity, there’s no shortage of things to do at Crystal this month.
SUMMIT FEST AUGUST 12th
This nighttime excursion is back by popular demand. This summer, the Summit Fest takes place during the peak of the Perseid Meteor Shower, making for the best viewing experience with the darkest night skies on the mountain. Hop on the scenic gondola and head to the summit for a magical time under the stars where live music, marshmallow roasting, and activities await. Bring your whole crew (dogs included), lawn chairs, and blankets for this one-of-a-kind event. General registration is $65 and includes a scenic gondola ticket and a raffle ticket for a chance to win prizes. For those 21+, you can upgrade to access the tasting lounge located in the Summit House Restaurant featuring local beers, wines, and ciders for $95. HIKING + WILDFLOWER VIEWING
August is one of our favorite months to hike and view the variety of beautiful wildflowers blooming along the trails. Right now, you can find paintbrush, subalpine daisies, purple lupine, tiger lilies, western anemone, and more! You can even bring your furry friends along; dogs are welcome on our hiking trails. Start your adventure from the summit after a scenic gondola ride to the top or begin at the base and hike to the summit for a good leg-burner. MOUNTAIN MUSIC: FREE CONCERTS SUNDAYS IN AUGUST
That’s right, FREE concerts are here for our Mountain Music Series hosted Sundays in August. Presented by Elysian Brewing, these live music performances will feature local artists and are the perfect way to enjoy the mountain views in a family-friendly environment. All ages (and dogs) are welcome! Don’t forget to bring your lawn chair, blankets, sunscreen, and family for this festive summer activity. FARM TO MOUNTAIN DINNERS: ONLY 3 LEFT THIS SUMMER
If you haven’t had the chance to dine at the Summit House this summer, now’s the time to experience one of the last Farm to Mountain dinners of the season. This mountaintop dinner series now features live outdoor music performances along with wine and beer tastings before the multi-course, gourmet meal for an enhanced experience. Plus, you’ll arrive at the summit via the Mount Rainier Gondola! Farm to Mountain dinners are a great way to get a taste of the Pacific Northwest’s flavor and soak in all the mountain views. SCENIC GONDOLA RIDES + FLYING RAVEN ADVENTURE COURSE
To really pack it all in this August, you can now get up to 20% off your scenic gondola ride when you purchase a Flying Raven Adventure Course ticket at the same time. This is a great way to get the full Crystal Mountain experience and take advantage of what summer has to offer. End your day with a hike along the summit ridgeline and a meal at the Summit House Restaurant or Tower 16. Please note that this offer is only valid during summer operations, so take advantage of it while you can!
