Mountain Commons

Opening Fall 2023

The Mountain Commons will be the first development to take shape; providing a central space for the community to eat, gather, and enjoy the mountains. This 25,000 sq ft open-concept lodge will optimize the arrival experience for everyone.

The first level of the Mountain Commons will include an open-concept café, retail, and restrooms. This floor will be a central hub for guests to arrive and get everything they need for the day. The second floor of the lodge will be home to two new expansive dining areas including a pizzeria, and smokehouse bar and grill. In addition, there will be an outdoor snow beach with fire pits, and patio dining for families and friends to gather and enjoy the scenic mountain views. The Mountain Commons will connect to the Cascade Lodge for easy access to Brand X Rentals and Demos, and the Crystal kids facility.

Our new Brew ’62 Café and Pickhandle Pro Shop will be centrally located on the first floor of the Mountain Commons. This floor will be a one-stop shop for guests to grab a quick beverage, extra layers, souvenirs and more on their way to the slopes. Pickhandle Pro Shop will feature your favorite outdoor brands such as Smith, Dakine, and The North Face with everything from base layers to outerwear to choose from. Brew ‘62 alludes to Crystal Mountain’s first opening season back in 1962. The café will feature interior elements inspired by Starbucks, but freshly brewed coffee won’t be the only brew on the menu. Locally crafted beers will also be available for midday après, with fresh, quick snacks, soups, sandwiches, and more. Brew ’62 will have indoor seating, along with a heated outdoor dining space. The new café will provide additional space for guests to gather, relax, and enjoy the mountain views.

Located on the upper level of the Mountain Commons, Peaks & Pies will be a new Italian-style restaurant featuring hand-tossed pizzas, salads, starters, and a full bar with locally crafted beer on-draft. The new restaurant will have a capacity of 134 indoor seats, 52 outdoor patio seats, and a private event option for birthdays, reunions, and large gatherings, offering plenty of variety and space for everyone.

The concept of a smokehouse first came to life two years ago in what is currently the Rafters, located in Cascade Lodge. Now, as the beautiful Mountain Commons takes shape, we are excited to enhance the vision with a new smokehouse. This new slope-side restaurant will take hold of flavors inspired by Texas-style brisket, Carolina-recipe pulled pork, Alabama smoked-chicken slaw, and more. The Smokehouse will feature an in-house smoker and regionally sourced, quality meats. With an indoor seating capacity of 148 guests, The Smokehouse is sure to be everyone’s new favorite hangout.

The Smokehouse will also be complimented by a full-service bar serving whiskey-heavy cocktails, a variety of locally crafted beer, national favorites, and seasonal rotations. The bar aptly named the Bootpack Bar, will provide indoor and outdoor service to accommodate the crowds coming off the slopes. The Bootpack Bar will seat an additional 136 guests in a heated outdoor dining space. With 284 seats total, The Smokehouse will be the largest full-service restaurant at the top of Crystal Mountain Boulevard.
