Reimagine Crystal

A vision for more space on the horizon

Announcing $100 Million in Resort Improvements

As we reflect on our rich past, we're excited to build for the future. Reimagine Crystal is kicking off the biggest capital expansion ever made at Crystal Mountain. With our community at the center of this project, we are focused on offering more space, access, and providing the best ski and snowboarding experience in the Pacific Northwest. Our mountain community is what makes Crystal the place we all know and love. As our community continues to grow, we are looking forward to improving and expanding as we envision a bigger future for us all.

Though this project will span the next several years, we have already made progress towards redeveloping our base area. Stay up to date with Reimagine Crystal's progress as we move towards this new vision for our mountain community.

Phase 1- Transformation of the Base Area

HHJ Construction crews arrived on April 15th and have been hard at work clearing the base area to make room for the Mountain Commons ever since. Guest services, the ticket kiosks, Right Angle Retail, and Ski & Ride school have all been demolished and debris from the old base area buildings has been cleared.

The removal of the Chapel took place on June 3rd and construction of underground utilities began. The installation of underground utilities continued through the end of July. Construction for building the exterior walls and concrete foundations began on June 15th and is scheduled to last through the summer.

All the timber that has been logged will be repurposed for building the Mountain Commons. Concrete was poured for additional ADA ramps, and an eco-block wall is in the process of being built off the bottom of the gondola.

The transformation of the base area is now officially underway.

The Vision of the Mountain Commons

After months of preparation, planning, and visualizing, the time has come to bring the Mountain Commons to life. Starting back in April, construction crews began to mobilize, and fencing started to go up around the base area. Employees were busy cleaning out office space, emptying filing cabinets, and relocating to temporary offices while construction takes place. The work to transform the base area into the Mountain Commons had begun. As we said our final goodbyes to the buildings we had walked through for several years, we waited with excitement and anticipation to welcome the HHJ Construction Crew on April 15th to begin the transformation of the base area. And just like that, Phase 1 of Reimagine Crystal began…

The Mountain Commons is kicking off the first of the developments to take place in the largest capital expansion ever made at Crystal. The new 25,000 sq foot lodge will focus on providing an open gathering space, better flow, and faster access to lifts. There will also be four new dining locations, an elevated retail space, and more seating for guests. As part of this redevelopment, the existing Cascade Lodge will welcome an expanded Brand X rental and demo shop and an enlarged Crystal kids facility. The Mountain Commons will be open for the 23/24 winter season.
