Phase 1- Transformation of the Base Area
HHJ Construction crews arrived on April 15th and have been hard at work clearing the base area to make room for the Mountain Commons ever since. Guest services, the ticket kiosks, Right Angle Retail, and Ski & Ride school have all been demolished and debris from the old base area buildings has been cleared.
The removal of the Chapel took place on June 3rd and construction of underground utilities began. The installation of underground utilities continued through the end of July. Construction for building the exterior walls and concrete foundations began on June 15th and is scheduled to last through the summer.
All the timber that has been logged will be repurposed for building the Mountain Commons. Concrete was poured for additional ADA ramps, and an eco-block wall is in the process of being built off the bottom of the gondola.
The transformation of the base area is now officially underway.
