As this season comes to a close and you start thinking about how to get the most out of next winter, imagine yourself in the boots of a ski instructor. Imagine your job is on the mountain, sharing your love of the sport and the outdoors with new people, and giving back to the mountain community that has given you so much throughout the years. Your job is sharing your passion; teaching young kids, as well as adults, and showing them the magical feeling you get when cruising down a freshly groomed run, or the pure freedom you feel as you stand on the summit looking out at Mt. Rainier.
We have an exciting opportunity coming up to help get folks involved with the Crystal Mountain Ski School next season who are interested in blending their passion with their work and getting paid to ski!
INSTRUCTOR TRAINING CLINIC
We are looking forward to hosting an upcoming instructor training clinic on December 3rd & 4th and December 10th & 11th. This four-day instructor training course will refine your own skiing and riding skills while you learn the necessary tools needed to teach kids and adults the basics of snow sports. Spend each day practicing skills and drills with your peers, exploring the mountain, and learning how to effectively teach.
The clinic is free of charge and will secure you a spot on the Crystal Mountain Ski & Ride School employee team for the winter of 22/23 with full benefits.
This is a great way to give back to the mountain, while gaining experience. Not to mention the perks of working at the biggest ski resort in Washington! You’ll receive a free season pass, steep discounts on food & retail, friends & family discounts and more.
What does the clinic entail?
You will be required to participate in all four days of the training (December 3rd & 4th, December 10th & 11th from 9am to 3pm). These days will consist of intensive experiential trainings in how to teach kids and adults skiing and snowboarding skills. You will have opportunities to practice with your peers and refine your own skills with constructive feedback to take you to the next level in your skiing or riding.
What is the required experience level?
It is helpful for participants to have intermediate skiing or riding abilities. While previous instructing experience is not required, it is helpful. The one thing you must have is positive energy, enthusiasm, and a strong passion for sharing the sport with others!
What would be my commitment for the 22/23 winter season?
Your commitment as an instructor next year would be a minimum of 15 teaching days spread out over the season. The lessons take place on Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays.
How can I register for the clinic?
Please contact the Crystal Mountain Ski & Ride School at lessons@skicrystal.com indicating your interest and experience level.
This is just one of the many ways you can become involved with the Crystal Crew next season. We are always looking for rad people who are eager for adventure and have a passion for learning. You can find more information on how to join the team and ski for free next season on our employment page!
